As William Saliba put his knowledge of former Arsenal players to the test, the defender brilliantly mistook former Gunners and Everton defender Philippe Senderos with Sean Dyche.

The video published by NBC Sports has been doing the rounds as Saliba was tasked with blurting out names as quickly as possible when shown historical heroes of his club.

It was a mixed bag as he alternated between right and wrong answers. Yaya Sanogo, Andrey Arshavin (albeit after a quick correction having initially guessed Tomas Rosicky), Alex Song and Gervinho were all correctly named, though Denilson, Manuel Almunia and Eduardo slipped his mind.

His transgression of lack of prime Premier League knowledge can be forgiven as Saliba would have been less than 10-years-old and in a different country when most of these stars graced English football. However, no-one could have been prepared for what came next.

Up popped a picture of retired centre-half Senderos, and with a squint and confused point towards the screen the Gunners No.2 asked: "It is the coach of Everton?"

"No, no, it looks like him! This one is a Swiss defender," his interviewer replied. The hint didn't mean anything in the end as the France international failed to guess the correct player - another one that was definitely before his time.

Saliba was sent off to brush up on his Arsenal history as the internet got a hold of the footage, loving the case of mistaken identity in particular. It is understandable, given the pair's clean buzz cuts bearing a resemblance.

In Senderos' picture he was donning the North London club's maroon shirt of the 2005/06 campaign - the year they lost to Barcelonal in the Champions League final. At that time Dyche was in the penultimate year of his 18-year playing career, helping Northampton Town to promotion from League Two.

So it was at least feasible it could have been Everton's current manager, except there is only the 14-year age gap between Dyche and Senderos, who made three appearances on loan at Goodison Park in early 2010.
