Barbie fans are convinced they’ve spotted an ‘iconic’ Bratz reference after seeing a clip from the Barbie movie on social media.

The highly anticipated Barbie film has been in cinemas for just shy of four weeks now, you could say the ‘pink’ hype may just be beginning to calm down. Starring Margot Robbie as the movie's titular character alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken, the film is based on the world-famous Mattel doll.

The movie follows the pair as they face the reality of leaving Barbie Land. Director Greta Gerwig wrote the screenplay with her long-term partner Noah Baumbach, writer and director of Marriage Story - which received six Oscar nominations.

Recently, a video was shared to TikTok by @its_ivanmars showing a short clip from the Barbie movie. The video was captioned: “Did you notice this? [shocked face emojis].”

The video shows the scene when Barbie is talking to Sasha and her three high school friends. The four girls share an extreme likeness to the four Bratz dolls.

Ivan goes on to explain that not only do the four high school students 'look similar' but they also 'have the same names' as the original four Bratz dolls: Sasha, Jade, Yasmin and Chloe. The two brands of dolls are complete opposites in terms of aesthetic, with Barbie being the perfect blonde bombshell and the Bratz dolls having an overall edgier look.

The video has since been viewed over 55.9 million times and has received nearly six million likes, so it looks like Ivan isn't the only one to think the Barbie movie is confirming a feud with its biggest rival. Fans of both doll brands have rushed to comment on the apparent nod … as one user said: “Nah Sasha’s mum called her bunny boo and that’s a nickname for Sasha from Bratz. Definitely Bratz.”

A second added: “Barbie vs Bratz: Infinity War” while another commented: “Bratz better come out with a movie asap. I need a clap back. I’m here for the drama."
