Matthew Wolfenden and Charley Webb have issued statements as they confirmed they have split.

The soap stars are renowned for their roles as David Metcalfe and Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale. The two started dating in 2006 just a year after Matthew joined the cast.

The two married in 2018 and are the parents of three children named Buster, Bowie and Ace. However, they have each shared statements their Instagram accounts to announce they have separated.

Matthew said: "It is with love and respect that Charley and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time."

Charley issued a similar statement as she said: "It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time."

Matthew announced his Emmerdale exit earlier this year while Charley left the cast in 2021.
