General tickets for the highly anticipated Peter Kay 2022-23 tour go on sale today at approximately 10am and fans are very excited.

The much-loved comedian will perform at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Friday, January 6 and Saturday, January 7 2023. The huge UK tour will also visit Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and more.

On Thursday November 10, there was a huge demand for pre-sale tickets which caused the O2 priority app to crash. Some were lucky to bag tickets, other Peter Kay fans couldn't even access the app and could only see a loading screen.

    Ticketmaster have some tips

Check when tickets are available – even once they’re on sale

"Keep up to date with news at Twitter. If anything changes regarding tickets for the show you’re after – anything at all – our social followers will be the first to know about it. We send real-time updates as the general sale happens, including any technical difficulties that might occur (remember there are a lot of fans out there) and alerts on when new tickets become available. When we have popular shows and tours going on sale, we try our very best behind the scenes to secure as many tickets for you as possible and here’s where you’ll know if we’ve been successful."

    Don’t oversleep

"Set an alarm for ticket day. Set two. And make sure you set it a good few minutes before the tickets actually go on sale. Missing out because you overslept is bad enough, but missing out because you forgot to charge your laptop is way worse…"

Open your account and log in now

"If you already have an account, get the details out of the way before tickets are available by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. We recommend checking passwords, delivery address and billing information now, to reduce any stress when processing your order later. Head to Ticketmaster.co.uk and log in to your account to get started."

Tips on securing tickets this morning

It's safe to say that this morning is going to be very stressful for some. We'd advise that you make sure you have an account with See Tickets, Ticketmaster and Ticket Factory and that you're logged in.

    • Make sure your billing details and address are correct on your account.
    • Join the online queue at at least 9:45am - this is the time the waiting room usually opens.
    • Don't refresh the landing page once you're in the queue, just try to be patient.
    • Join on multiple browsers on more than one device to increase your chances of snapping up tickets.
    • Apps may be quicker than on a laptop or computer, download the Ticketmaster and See Ticket app on your phone.
    • Ticketmaster also have an official re-sale platform if you miss out - try not to spend silly money on certain websites.
    • The higher the demand, the more expensive tickets may be.

Why did the pre-sale go so badly?

Ahead of tickets going on general sale on Saturday (November 12), a presale took place on Thursday morning for O2 Priority customers. However, the O2 app and its website both crashed just before tickets were due to go on sale at 10am.

A Peter Kay fan said: "Not the o2 priority app crashing an hour before Peter Kay presale." A third tweet read: "Even on desktop! It just says “there’s been a problem and we’ve been notified."

Peter Kay has now tweeted an apology on behalf of SJM concerts. His tweet read: "Message from SJM Concerts. We'd like to acknowledge and apologise for a number of technical issues customers experienced while trying to buy tickets for Peter Kay's upcoming live tour via the O2 priority pre-sale earlier today.

"SJM Concerts would like to reassure customers that substantial provision has been put in place for the main ticket sale this Saturday. Plenty of tickets will be available throughout the day so please persevere and please buy from official ticket outlets".
