Liverpool Combined Authority
In 2013, the government announced it wanted a 'combined authority' for Merseyside, which would be responsible for major regional economic investment projects, with a cabinet made up of the leaders of Liverpool, Sefton, Wirral, Knowsley, St Helens, Halton councils.
