A major road was closed after a crash outside a pub.
Police, paramedics and a fire engine were called to the crash on Church Road in Netherton at around 3.30pm on Friday, November 10. The crash involved a white Mercedes and black Honda near to the Netherton Pub
Merseyside Police said a man in his 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Following the crash the road was closed and traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on A5038 Netherton Way Northbound at A5036 Church Road.

"One lane (of three) is closed at the junction of A5038 Netherton Way and A5036 Dunnings Bridge Road Northbound. Traffic cannot turn right from Netherton Way onto Dunnings Bridge Road."
