A mum whose missing son was found dead with three friends said she's living in a nightmare.

Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson and Hugo Morris were found in an overturned car in Garreg, North Wales, after being reported missing on Sunday, November 19. A major search operation was launched for the teenagers after they failed to return home from a camping trip.

North Wales Police said their bodies were recovered from a silver Ford Fiesta which appears to have left the road and was found on its roof, partially submerged in water. The teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were A-Level students from Shrewsbury in Shropshire.

Crystal Owen, the mum of Harvey Owen, shared a message on her business' Facebook page, Crystal's Cupcakes, this morning. She wrote: "I feel like I’m in a nightmare I wish I could wake up from but I’m not.

"I just wanted to say I do appreciate people’s kindness but no amount of messages is going to help me overcome this. Nothing will make this nightmare go away.

"I would just like to inform people that due to me having a moderate sized team now I am not able to just close the shop and keep my staffs' wages paid and I haven’t had the time to even organise closure so it’s easier mentally to just switch off and leave it open as usual.

"I cannot cope with dealing with anything related so will be leaving the shop in the good hands of my partner and team for the time being. I am aiming the let them take over the social media and messaging etc but that won’t be for a few days so everything will be as normal but you won’t be inundated with cake pictures. We are open seven days a week."

North Wales Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding how the car the teenagers were travelling in left the road.

Superintendent Owain Llewelyn said: "At present, this appears to have been a tragic accident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the four young men at this very difficult time. This has been an extensive search involving a number of different agencies and volunteers, and this is sadly not the outcome that any of us would have wanted.

"We would ask that the families be afforded the appropriate privacy and respect."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called on Tuesday at approximately 10.08am to reports of an incident near the A4085 between Nantmor and Tan-Lan. We sent an operations manager, two emergency ambulances and two Cymru high acuity response units to the scene where we were supported by the emergency medical retrieval and transfer service in two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters."
