A new comedy competition is launching at cafe and bar Tempest.

The Tithebarn Street venue will host some of Liverpool's most noted comedians and those aspiring to make it to the top in a competition format.

Acts will take to the stage in five to ten-minute slots to hopefully impress the audience with their best one-liners, digs and anecdotes in order to move progress to the next show.

Each night, guests can vote for the comic they want to see in a final comedy showdown, with the winner being awarded a paid spot on a professional stand-up comedy night in 2024.

Hosted by Mark Devine, Comedy at Tempest will run alongside the weekly Monday quiz nights and live music on Wednesdays.

The comedy nights are free for all to attend with no tickets necessary but you can book a table here. The first night kicks off tomorrow - Thursday, October 12 at 8pm.
