A mum told of her pride after her "ambitious" son surprised her with a heartwarming idea.

Carter Wall has a CV that would be impressive for most adults let alone a 13-year-old. The teenager, from Stockbridge Village, gets up at 4.30 every morning before school to go to the gym and trains four days a week at Frankie Knuckles Boxing Club in Prescot.

He has also recently started his own clothing business called 'ACTIVE_PEAKCLOTHING', selling hats and tracksuits to other young people. It was a few weeks ago that Carter came up with an idea to raise money for the animal charity PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) that helps provide free and low-cost treatment to pets in need.

Carter's mum Ashlie Wall, 35, said: "Carter just came into my room one day and told me he'd like to run to raise money. I'd done charity runs myself in the past and told him it was a lovely idea.

"I asked him who he'd like to raise funds for and he wanted to do it for something a little different. The PDSA have been amazing with our dog before. He set himself two weeks and would run after school, after boxing, whenever he could."

Carter ran to the city centre from his house and back in less than 59 minutes, raising £500 for the PDSA in order to provide support for the vets.

Carter told the ECHO: "My dog, Bambi, has always gone there and they've always been so good to her. They run purely off donations so I knew this would be a massive help to them. It felt really good."

Carter said he also has big ambitious for the future of his clothing business and boxing career. He said he wants "to make it pro and go as far as I can in the future with the help of my coaches"

Carter said: "I want to make my own money as an entrepreneur. I'd love to make it big and get my products into a well-known clothing store."

His boxing coach, Frankie Preston, said: "Carter's polite and hard working. He listens, puts into practice what he’s told and is a very well liked boxer in the gym. He has good leadership’s qualities and a very bright future."

Proud mum, Ashlie, told the ECHO: "Carter works so hard, even when he's not in school or training. He was a model from the age of two, appearing in John Lewis and Toys R Us catalogues.

"People used to tell me he was born to stand out. He's always had a lot of ambition and pushed himself to do more.

"Its always just been me and Carter. I've brought him up on my own but we've got an amazing family.

"My mum, Libby is great. Carter has a heart of gold and is a role model to other kids. He shows us all anything's achievable at any age with hard work and dedication, we are all so proud of him."
