Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden said she is in "limbo" as she gives fans an update amid her cancer battle.

The Welsh dancer had been diagnosed with a second type of cancer after she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. The 33-year-old revealed her diagnosis back in May and has since undergone an operation, as well as a mastectomy and fertility treatment.

Amy celebrated her last round of cancer treatment last week and had planned to make an appearance on the popular BBC contest before the end of the year. However, she had previously taken to Instagram to reveal she will not be able to achieve that goal after an injury to her leg.

As Amy undergoes her treatment, she has since taken to her Instagram stories to give her fans an update after finishing her chemotherapy treatment. She wrote: "Can't believe it's a whole two weeks ago!

"I'm off to the unit again today for my monthly injection. But it does feel strange as when you're in chemo cycles there's such a routine and atm (at the minute) you feel a little in limbo. But still so very proud of this moment."

Amy previously opened up about the "rubbish" week. She said: "Hello everyone, I just wanted to come on and say a massive thank you for all the lovely messages, I've got my new best friend (the boot), it's sore but it's okay."

Amy went on to say she "just needed cheering up" and has even visited the ballroom. She said she will also be seeing the Strictly cast and the dancing as she said: "I haven't smiled since Tuesday but now I'm smiling again."
