Strictly's Vito Coppola "hurt his elbow" during rehearsals after attempting to scare Ellie Leach.

The Coronation Street actress, 22, has been partnered with the Italian dancer, 31, on the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing. At the weekend, Ellie and Vito scored 39 out of 40 for their Charleston to Love Machine by Girls Aloud.

After their performance in Blackpool, Vito kissed Ellie and told her: "We've won, baby." Speculation about a possible romance between the pair started due to their onscreen chemistry, with Vito also calling Ellie sweet nicknames as they train together, such as 'my baby', 'my Lulu' and a 'diamond'.

The pair regularly update fans on social media of their daily rehearsals. This morning, Vito shared a story to his 243k Instagram followers.

In the video, he is seen hiding behind a door waiting for Ellie to enter the room. The Instagram story was captioned: “I am trying but Ellie just doesn’t get scared… I even hurt my elbow on the corner of the door.”

As Ellie walks through the door, Vito attempts to jump out and scare her but it doesn't go to plan. When jumping out at Ellie, he appears to hit his elbow on the door and is seen rolling around on the floor crying out in pain.
